Torrumbarry weir

Located on the Murray river just out of Torrumbarry a trip to the weir is a great day out. There is an information centre located at the weir.

Directions from park
Travel east on Murray Valley Highway for 11 km . Turn left into Torrumbarry Weir road and follow for 8.5 km

Cohuna Ski Run

Cohuna has a great area on the Gunbower Creek for water skiing. The waterlevel always remains at a constant level so skiing is possible all year round.

Directions from park
Travel west along Murray Valley Highway to Cohuna. Turn right at the roundabout onto Island Road and continue 3 km to the boat ramp.

Kow Swamp

Kow swamp has a picnic area with an undercover BBQ. There are also toilets located in the area.

Directions from park
Head west on Murray Valley Hwy 3 km . Turn left at Bowlands Rd 2.3 km . Turn left at Leitchville South Rd 4.0 km Continue onto Dehne Rd 290 m turn right into picnic area.

Mount Hope

Mount Hope is located between Leitchville and Pyramid Hill. It is a popular spot for hiking.

Directions from park
Travel west on Murray Valley Hwy for 3km. Turn left into Bowlands Rd travel 2.3km to the end. Turn left then right 50mt into Pyramid Leitchville Rd. Continue 22.5kms turn right into Old Leitchville Road. Travel up the road about 1km and turn left towards the picnic area

Gunbower Island Tourist Drive

Gunbower Island in known as Australia's largest inland Island which spans over 50 km in length and an area of 22,000 hectares . The Island is home to a population of native animals such as Kangaroos, Emus, Goannas, Possums, Snakes and over 100 different species of birds. Being located so close to many waterways Gunbower Island is a great location for Sightseeing, Fishing, Birdwatching or just taking a scenic drive around the Island. There are many great locations for bush walking, canoeing, fishing and many other activities.

Annual events

Some local events in the area are:
Gunbower Cup, Southern 80 Ski Race, Cohuna Show, Local Fishing Competitions, Bridge to Bridge Triathlon and many more.

The Gunbower Cup is a once a year horse race meeting, it's a fantastic example of country racing with plenty of fun for all including Fashions on the Field, Children's activities, novelty events and shady relaxing picnic areas.

The Southern 80 Ski Race is conducted on the Mighty Murray River starting at Torrumbarry. The Southern 80 Ski Race has been going now for over 45 years.

The Cohuna Agricultural Show is held annually in March each year. It features many events like pavilion comps, Ambassador awards, Show Girls, Poultry, Pigeons, Dogs, Cattle, Horses, poster comps and more.
